Rtube installation without installer

Running Rtube without installer:

Windows

On Windows there is no Flash player needed to play video's in Rtube

• Download & unzip Rtube Linux/MacOSX/Windows MultiPlatform package:
  Rtube MultiPlatform
• Run Rtube.exe

 

 

 

 

Rtube on Linux

On Linux there is no Flash player needed to play video's in Rtube

• How to run Rtube on LINUX
  
  • Download and install the latest version of the Mozilla Firefox browser: http://www.getfirefox.com
  • Download Rtube Linux/MacOSX/Windows MultiPlatform package:
    Rtube MultiPlatform
  • Unzip to your preferred location
  • Make file "RtubeLinux" executable 
    • Right click on the "RtubeLinux" file
    • Choose "Properties"
    • Click the tab "Permissions"
    • Check the checkbox: "Executable file"
    •  
    • OR advanced user can use: (chmod +X)
  • Now you can run Rtube by double clicking on: RtubeLinux

Silverlight plugin: Install "Moonlight" plugin for Xulrunner or Firefox, depending on what you use.

• Advanced info:
  • binary RtubeLinux starts:
    • runRtube.sh
    • runRtube.sh starts in sequence:
      • RsolutionSystem/runRtubeOnUbuntuLinuxXulRunner.sh
        • Runs: xulrunner `pwd`/RsolutionSystem/Rsolution/application.ini
      • RsolutionSystem/runRtubeOnLinuxFirefox.sh
        • Runs: firefox -app `pwd`/RsolutionSystem/Rsolution/application.ini
      • RsolutionSystem/runRtubeOnAppleMacFirefox.sh
        • /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/firefox-bin -app `pwd`/RsolutionSystem/Rsolution/application.ini
        • Todo: Firefox path is hardcoded to: /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/firefox-bin
      • Please feel free to change these scripts to fix your configuration.
        (If you have a well tested dynamic solution, we would be happy to include them in our next Rtube release.)

 

 

 

Rtube on Mac OSX

• Default Firefox location:
  • Run runRtubeOnMacintoshFirefox.scpt or runRtubeOnMacintoshFirefox.app
• Custom Firefox location:
  • Edit the Firefox install location in runRtubeOnMacintoshFirefox.scpt
  • Run runRtubeOnMacintoshFirefox.scpt or runRtubeOnMacintoshFirefox.app
